Spring waving from a distance…

…and spring is ‘throwing it right at you’ – snow, hail and shine, too! And it has been a bit colder again.

The first five pictures I took in our garden on Sunday. Sunday – funday: first the sun was shining, then some dark clouds started to appear in the sky, and then the sun was shining and it was snowing at the same time, and after that it was just cloudy and it was snowing, and then again clouds were going away and the sun was shining again, and after that again; dark clouds were appearing in the sky and the sun was shining and it started to snow at the same time… – This pattern continued all day.

And at one point it was hailing as well. The sun was still shining on the right-hand side when I took the picture above.

Spring says hello…

So there’s that…

I know what triggers you.

Three pictures that I took yesterday:

Coffee pic… Just to tell that the sun wasn’t exactly shining, but the scent of the coffee was wonderful, and that it was snowing yesterday, too.

And a bit later… Nordic walking in the forest. Ravens were croaking there, and it was snowing a bit.

Having coffee again today. ;D And the sun is shining.

dwarf spruce, March
~Hi!~

My dwarf spruce was completely buried under snow, now she’s back. 🙂

Sofian maailma
Sofian maailma, Sophie’s World.

I am about to finish reading this book, Sofian maailmaSophie’s World – A Novel About the History of Philosophy by Jostein Gaarder. It’s a great book! And a great adventure. And it’s a bit heavy book – there was a week I couldn’t read it, I couldn’t hold the book in my hands, because it was too heavy for my shingles…

The last peony flowers, schizanthus & cornflower, bike ride 20 km…

The weather’s been warm lately and it’s been sunny, too, but it’s been really pouring down with rain occasionally, but sometimes the sun’s been trying to shine at the same time as well. Beautiful. 🙂

Now the last peony flowers. This, indeed, has been a bit different summer – we’ve had peony flowers still in August!

I missed some of the flowering of my peonies while I was in Kuusamo, but happily, there’s still been these beauties after my trip, too. 🙂

schizanthus, butterfly flower, poor man's orchid

Schizanthus, butterfly flower or poor man’s orchid has been flowering lately in our garden as well. They are grown from seeds. One of my favourite summer flowers.

Daisies, too.

We have a lot of schizanthus growing this summer, they have been hit by the rain a bit…

lake Pyhäjärvi

On Thursday we took a 20 km bike ride along the lake Pyhäjärvi shoreline. It was nice. I took a picture as I was sitting by the lake for a while. 🙂

cornflower

Cornflower blooming now as well, grown from seeds. Yet another favourite of mine… And hit by the rain a bit…

A few flowers today (+my “pic page” usernames)

I took a little tour with my camera in our garden today, for the newly opened up flowers for this summer. Today is actually a surprisingly warm day.

DSC04073

The Park lilacs or Hungarian lilacs actually have been flowering already for a while now. Our park lilacs don’t have so many flowers this year – last year they were loaded…

DSC04083

Purple-flowering raspberry is, too, planted by the previous owners of this house. I like it! 🙂

DSC04087

Iris. We have these in two different spots in the garden. The other ones were planted by the previous owners of this house, the other bunch by us – we brought them from eastern Finland last summer, my boyfriend’s mother gave them to us. This flower is of that bunch. I love irises, more pics of them later, hopefully. 🙂 Only two flowers have opened up so far, but there’s so many buds.

Daisy. Daisies are already a bit wild in our garden. – Some of them here, some of them there. One here, one there.

Aaand, I love the “pic pages” or apps… Here’s my favourites, and where Owlnature is… I am… so, my usernames: Instagram: owlnatureleena (I’ve used Instagram before, but at this very moment Owlnature doesn’t have any pics there yet, as I just created the account.) Pinterest: owlnature (The same story as with Instagram.) We Heart It: owlnature (This account I started using already in winter.) Yees, maybe I have the real widgets, too, in the sidebar of my blog some day… 🙂
